The Prophet | Film by Roger Allers (director)
The Prophet by Khalil Gibran is one of my favourite books. I wasn’t sure that the film would do it justice… until I heard about how the film’s creators were doing it.
The film’s creators decided to take a selection of the lessons / ideas from the Prophet and have each one animated by a different animator or team of animators. The film then follows the main storyline (animated by the same people throughout) and cuts from time-to-time to one of the lessons with a unique animation and a song written especially for the film.
Oh, and it’s written and directed by Roger Allers (co-director of The Lion King) and has music by Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, Yo-Yo Ma and others.
