If you want to get fit, there are tons of options available. One that I haven’t tried, but was really interested in learning a little more about, is Crossfit.

As always, Tim Ferriss gets a guest who knows their stuff and can talk in ridiculous amounts of detail about the subject at hand. Kelly Starrett fits the bill for Crossfit — he’s been training Crossfit clients since 2005. According to Tim Ferriss’ website, Kelly’s clients include ‘Olympic gold medalists, Tour de France cyclists, world record holders in Olympic lifting and powerlifting, Crossfit Games medalists, professional ballet dancers, and elite military personnel.’ Pretty impressive.

Kelly is also the author of Becoming a Supple Leopard — a how-to book for making your exercise movements more efficient and less dangerous, lowering your chances of injury. It includes detailed advice on technique for various exercises (inc. deadlifts, squats, bench press). I’ve not read it but I’ve heard it’s awesome.
