Do schools kill creativity? | TED Talk by Sir Ken Robinson
Many people feel like the cards are stacked against them at school — they feel unable to unleash their creativity, instead being stuck with academic subjects that they don’t feel suited to.
Sir Ken Robinson is an international education advisor who focuses on changing education to cater for multiple kinds of intelligence — not just the kind that leads to academic success.
His TED talk is not only one of the most popular ever — it’s also pretty controversial. Those committed to the current education system find some his ideas threatening or just plain wrong — others think they’re brilliant. I’ll leave you to decide what you think.
FYI: He’s also a pretty interesting and inspiring guy. His book The Element talks some more about his background and his ideas on education, intelligence and creativity.
